When VCRM™ fits

For organisations where human behaviour directly affects safety, quality and performance

VCRM™ is designed for teams that must collaborate under time pressure, across disciplines or within a clear hierarchy. It is particularly relevant when recurring patterns cannot be resolved through a single stand-alone training session.

  • Information is lost during handovers, briefings or project transitions.
  • Employees identify risks but do not voice doubt or deviations early enough.
  • Decisions, priorities and escalation routes are not clear to everyone.
  • Incidents and near misses do not lead sufficiently to shared learning and changed behaviour.
  • Management wants to measure what actually changes before and after an intervention.

Approach

A controlled programme in six connected phases

The precise scope is tailored to the organisation, but each phase builds on the previous one. Assumptions are replaced by data, recognisable practice and focused follow-up.

01

Intake, objective and scope

Together with the client and management, the reason for the programme, target groups, critical work processes, desired behavioural change and success criteria are defined. Confidentiality, reporting and stakeholder involvement are also agreed in advance.

02

T0 baseline and diagnosis

A digital questionnaire, interviews and, where relevant, document or incident analysis identify strengths and risk patterns. Themes include communication, authority gradient, situational awareness, leadership, teamwork, SOPs, handovers and learning climate.

03

Analysis and diagnostic dashboard

Scores, differences between groups and recurring patterns are translated into a clear dashboard, principal risks, concrete recommendations and priorities for management and training.

04

Training and scenario facilitation

Interactive sessions use recognisable cases from the organisation’s own operation. Participants practise briefings, closed-loop communication, challenge-and-response, decision-making under pressure, leadership and followership.

05

Workplace coaching and observation

After training, the programme examines whether the desired behaviour becomes visible during handovers, project meetings, work preparation and incident reviews. Observation and focused feedback support application in daily practice.

06

T1/T2 evaluation and sustainment

Repeat measurements compare development with the baseline. Trends, residual risks and follow-up actions are documented in progress and evaluation reports so that improvement remains manageable and sustainable.

Assessment and training themes

The human factors behind safe and reliable performance

The themes are not treated as isolated theory. They are linked to the organisation’s work processes, critical moments and observable behaviour.

Communication & closed-loopBriefing, feedback, confirmation, handover and preventing assumptions.
Situational awarenessA shared picture of risks, planning, change and interdependencies.
Decision-making & workloadPrioritising, weighing information, managing time pressure and communicating decisions explicitly.
Leadership, followership & authority gradientRoles, example-setting, responsibility and room to voice questions or concerns.
SOPs, handover & coordinationMaking working agreements usable and recognising, discussing and recording deviations in time.
Reporting, feedback & learningUsing incidents and near misses for reflection, improvement actions and lasting sustainment.

What it delivers

From insight to observable and measurable behaviour

VCRM™ focuses on more than awareness. It makes visible which patterns require priority, which behaviour is expected and how the organisation can track development.

  • Clearer briefings and handovers, with explicit confirmation of agreements and responsibilities.
  • A healthier speak-up culture and workable authority gradient, including across hierarchical boundaries.
  • A better shared picture of risks, priorities, change and interdependencies.
  • Decisions, escalations and deviations that are made, recorded and communicated in a structured way.
  • Greater organisational learning through useful incident reporting, feedback and follow-up of improvement actions.
  • Management information that makes progress, residual risks and next steps discussable.

Potential deliverables

A coherent package for diagnosis, delivery and evaluation

Depending on the assignment, V-tology can provide a complete programme or selected components. Content, planning and reporting format are agreed in advance.

  • Intake, project scope and practical implementation plan.
  • Diagnostic questionnaire, T0 baseline and analysis for relevant target groups.
  • Diagnostic dashboard with key findings, top risks and recommendations.
  • Tailored training programme with cases and scenarios from the organisation’s own operation.
  • Coaching and observation format for workplace application.
  • T1/T2 evaluation, progress reporting and advice for further sustainment.

Positioning and scope

An organisational development methodology inspired by Aviation CRM

VCRM™ is a V-tology methodology that translates principles from Aviation Crew Resource Management to organisations outside aviation. It is not an EASA-approved aviation CRM course, certification, safety audit or formal compliance assessment.

Objectives, scope, measurement method, confidentiality and reporting are agreed with the client in advance. Where appropriate, results are reported at aggregated level; individual statements or scores are not made identifiable without a clear basis and prior agreement.

Sustainable improvement requires active involvement from management and employees, follow-up in daily operations and suitable organisational conditions. V-tology supports this process but cannot guarantee a specific safety, financial or operational outcome.
